Virtual Try-On · last updated 17 October 2026
Virtual Try-On (“the app”) is run by Lets Try on You. It lets shoppers on a Shopify store see a product on themselves before they buy. This page explains what the app collects, why, and for how long.
The short version
Your photo is used only to create your own preview. It is never shown publicly, never sold, and never used for anything else.
Shoppers
Your photo
- It is checked automatically (is there a person, is it explicit) and used to generate your preview.
- It is deleted within an hour.
- The preview generated from it is deleted after 7 days. Previews carry a “Not for Resale” watermark.
- Images are processed on cloud GPU servers that only our own backend can reach; those servers keep nothing after the preview is made.
Other information
- A random browser ID in a cookie (
toy_pid, up to 180 days) — it identifies no one; it lets the store count returning shoppers. - Your email address, if you give it or place an order after a try-on, and whether you agreed to marketing.
- What happened after a try-on: whether the product was added to cart or ordered, so the store can see what the app is worth to it.
Your choices
- Ask the store for a copy of your data, or for it to be erased. Shopify passes these requests to us, and we act on them.
Merchants
We store the shop’s domain, the login session Shopify gives the app, and the analytics above. When a merchant uninstalls the app, Shopify asks us to erase the shop’s data 48 hours later, and we delete all of it.
Who processes the data
Hosting for the app and its database; a cloud GPU provider that generates previews and stores nothing; and the email provider that delivers emails. None of them may use the data for their own purposes. We do not sell personal data.
